Władysław Hasior - Creator of the Five Elements
One of the most outstanding Polish artists of the 2nd half of the 20th century. Considered the creator of assemblage in Poland. He also created banners, concrete sculptures “torn from the ground”, monuments, drawings, collages. He often incorporated elements into his works, which were an integral part of his compositions.
Władysław Hasior (born May 14, 1928 in Nowy Sącz, died July 14, 1999 in Cracow) - Polish sculptor, painter, stage designer, teacher. Between 1947 and 1952, he studied at the State High School of Visual Arts in Zakopane (“Kenar School”). He then continued his studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts at the Department of Sculpture in the atelier of Prof. Marian Wnuk, Oskar Hansen and Jerzy Soltan, where he received his diploma in 1958 for his ceramic Stations of the Passion. From 1957 to 1968 he was a teacher of sculpture at the so-called “Kenar School.” Since the 1960s, he participated in individual and group exhibitions, at home and abroad. He also exhibited his works at the XXXV International Art Biennale in Venice (1970) and twice at the São Paulo Biennale (1965 and 1971). His monuments and outdoor sculptures are located in Poland (Zakopane, Kuźnice, Snozka Pass, Szczecin, Koszalin, Wroclaw), Sweden (Södertälje near Stockholm), Denmark (Humlebaek near Copenhagen). Since 1985 he ran the Wladyslaw Hasior Gallery in Zakopane, as a branch of the Tatra Museum.

Katarzyna Rogalska
Art historian, graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (Protection of Cultural Property, specialization in conservation). She also completed postgraduate studies Art History. Social and Political Perspective (Collegium Civitas and the Art Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences) and Postgraduate Museum Studies at Warsaw University. Member of the Association of Art Historians, Warsaw Branch. Since 2006 she has been working in museology. Author of scientific and popular science publications in the field of art history and conservation, co-curator of exhibitions. Curator, employee of the Art Center at the Royal Castle in Warsaw - Museum. My main interests include architecture and contemporary art. My hobbies include sightseeing, scuba diving, horseback riding and photography. I also have a lot of fun learning new things.
